Jane Austen’s Bath

The Ball Room at the Bath Assembly RoomsThe Tea Room at the Bath Assembly RoomsI know I’ve mentioned it before, but I am a huge fan of Jane Austen’s novels.  So, of course I was very intrigued to see Bath, England!  I did not have the time to go in the museum for her there (future trips…), but we did go to see the Assembly Rooms, which has an admission fee of something like £2.  Worth it, even if it was only to see three rooms and the connecting hallway.  The Assembly Rooms are where one of my favorite movies, Persuasion (Jane Austen), was filmed.  The concert from the movie took place in the Tea Room with the front of the building used for their arrival.  Rather neat to see in person!!  The rooms all had beautifully ornate crystal chandeliers, absolutely loved those.

From there, we strolled down the road to the Circus, a large round-about with buildings perfectly encircling it.  From there it was down a street to the Royal Crescent, a large crescent shaped street of buildings.  Both were neat to see, but not worth being the highlights of the trip. The Royal Crescent, BathThe Circus, Bath
