Dog Sledding back to the lodge while it was snowing

Exploring by Dog Sled

I want to say we did 20-25km this day. We didn’t have a final destination to make it to, we weren’t lugging our luggage with us, just us, the sleds, and the dogs, free in the wilds of Northern Sweden. It was incredible. And to top it all off, I didn’t fall off that sled this day! Not once!!

Dog Sledding in Northern Sweden

In the morning we woke, had breakfast, then had enough time to pack our stuff up and get dressed in our snow gear.  We then carried our bags outside (bring a small carry on size bag for this trip) and waited for instructions.   Our guide brought us over to a dog sled, without the […]

The Aurora!!!

Welcome to the Arctic Circle!

Touring the Lake District

So I have been really busy since the spring of this year, with various vacations, weekend road trips, and a lot of work.  As a result, I’ve got so much stuff to post about now that life is slowing down a bit.  Back at the end of May, I took a weekend road trip up […]

Looking up at the top of the Samaria Gorge

Hiking the Longest Gorge in Europe

One bright morning in mid-September, in Crete, found us up and ready to catch a cab to Chania, where we would catch a bus at 7:45 AM to Omalos, the start of the Samaria Gorge hike.  Despite how early it was, we were all eager to get going and start this hike down the longest […]

A little beach in Sola, Norway

Norway’s Coastline Reminds Me of Home…

After our cruise of the Lysefjord, and getting to see Pulpit Rock from below after our hike to it, we got back on the road, hitting a few sites before going to the airport for our late afternoon flight.  We headed west out of Stavanger to go see an interesting monument.  This was a trio […]
